Incident Date: 18 August 2021
Over the weekend, the Det Commander and two Marines from Det Kingston fielded a call from a man who was threatening to kill his wife and explode a large bomb in the Embassy. The three Marines kept the man on phone long enough to calm him down and obtain vital information, including his name and address. They quickly passed the information to the RSO and local authorities. The Marines still had him on the phone when police arrived at his residence and took the man into custody. During this event, the rest of the detachment was on standby and fully prepared to handle the developing situation. The Det Commander and Marines did a great job and will be receiving Department of State awards for their performance.
